I had an exterior door replaced after someone kicked it in. I would recommend Gamache Construction to anyone who is needing work done. I have tried to work with construction companies in the past and have been frustrated by their lack of respect for my time and following through with a bid. Jon is the exception!!! He showed up when he said he would AND his work is exceptional! I will use him again and I'm sharing his contact information with my daughter! Thank you, Jon, for replacing the door within a day! MAJOR DECK RECONSTRUCTION: Excellent in all respects. Could not be more pleased. Timely, focused, quality materials and professional work. Affordable. Total customer satisfaction. Will ask him to do more work for us without hesitation. I have no reservations at all in recommending Jon to anyone needing any of his varied talents. His skills and talents are evident in what he does. It has been over a month since he finished the project, and we do not have on concern or problem with the deck. In fact, we are already exploring ideas about how he could do some indoor remodeling, including gas fireplace inserts. We were happy to pay Jon for what he did to improve our home, protect our investment and to assure marketability of our house.
Below is a summary or our experience with Jon and his work:
When we contacted Jon Gamache, he came over to look at the aging deck. We had hoped our redwood deck boards could be reused. Jon told us he was willing to do this, but advised that there may be other problems under the deck boards. We felt confident in trusting his judgment, and asked him to proceed. At that time it was not possible to come up with an accurate estimate. We understood this accepted the inevitable uncertainty until work began and we could all see what had to be done. Jon showed up exactly when he said he would to begin work. It turned out most all the beams supporting the redwood deck floor were severely rotted. After discussing the situation, we asked Jon to do whatever was necessary to make the deck solid and attractive. We opted for all new material. The old redwood deck boards would have left the deck surface looking shabby with deep water stains and all the old screw holes from earlier construction. Jon shared with us various choices in materials based on appearance, quality and durability. We wanted the best and made choices for the best of new materials. After we made our selections, Jon began work. I've never seen anyone work so diligently on a project. His work proceeded right on schedule and at various steps of the project he conferred with us about progress and choices. He made sure the deck was built level from end to end (the old deck was not level), with consideration for drainage. Jon was punctual every day. He works non-stop at a pace that truly amazed us. His work is focused, accurate and it is obvious his mind in constantly planning each next step. There were no long interruptions. He does exactly what he says he will do and when he says he will. Jon cleaned up every day for safety and access to our home through a door under the deck. When finished, he cleaned up and hauled away out old deck material; a major task in itself. We are very satisfied with our new deck and materials. It is extremely solid and beautiful with the best of contemporary materials. The finished deck is far superior to our old deck and materials. We had five extensive terrace walls with a terraced patio area built up a slope in our backyard; Jon assured that everything was done level and right and if it was not done correctly, he would redo it until it was perfect. We had nothing but a good experience with Jon and his crew, they were friendly did a high-quality job and exceeded our expectations with quality and competency.
